Virtual Bugzilla Server — Download and Install in 5 Minutes

(VMWare Player)
  1. Download and install VMWare Player
    Download from VMWare website
    Not required if you have installed any software that can run a VMWare virtual machine.
  2. Download Virtual Bugzilla 3.4
    Get EXE archive if you're on Windows, 7Z archive if you have 7-Zip installed; otherwise, download the larger ZIP archive.

  3. Start the server.

    Unpack Virtual Bugzilla somewhere and double-click on vbs34.vmx.

    Linux OS will start booting inside VMWare Player, which can take a couple of minutes. You'll see a lot of funny messages, but in the end it should show welcome to bugzilla server yellow banner.

    Note the numeric URL below the banner — this is the address of your Bugzilla. Launch browser and open this URL (or switch VMWare to Appliance View and click "Open in Browser").

  4. Enjoy Bugzilla! The default administrative account is "admin", password "admin".
